Willow Ridge Elementary School is a community of learners who recognize the importance of a quality education. Students, staff and parents work together to ensure that high standards of learning are maintained. It is our belief that learning in today’s world requires students to use think critically and to solve problems by applying skills in new and unique ways.

Students from across the Amherst area recently gathered for the impactful Challenge 2 Change summit, hosted at Daemen University. C2C is a day dedicated to student voice, connection, and collective problem-solving. Bringing together multiple school districts, the event created space for students to engage in thoughtful discussions, explore different perspectives, and work collaboratively on issues that matter to them and their peers.
Senior Jaevon Coleman captured the impact best:
“When we gather with other school districts, it gives us the chance to exchange ideas, share our experiences, and listen to the viewpoints of students from all over Amherst. Coming together fosters collaboration and strengthens the educational community beyond just my own district. It’s an incredibly valuable opportunity to learn from each other as we work towards a shared goal at these various stations that ultimately benefit all students.”
We also want to extend a special congratulations to sophomore Patience Richards, whose creativity was on full display as the designer of this year’s event t-shirt for all participants!
We are proud of our students for representing our school community and continuing to lead with empathy, respect, and a commitment to positive change. #WeAreSweetHome

The Sweet Home Music Festival was a huge success! Nearly 200 student musicians from across the district came together at UB’s Center for the Arts to showcase their talent, teamwork, and love of music. We’re so proud of our students and grateful to our incredible music educators and Board of Education for supporting the arts. Bravo to all who made this special tradition shine! #WeAreSweetHome

It's the perfect time of year for a little greenery! Our Willow Ridge Environmentalist Team has been busy writing letters requesting donated plants that they can repot and gift to our hardworking teachers. The team's mission is to take care of the environment inside and outside of Willow Ridge.
Thank you to Home Depot and Badding Farm Market & Garden Center who responded with a great variety of plants for our students to work with! Students also emailed their teachers to organize a list of those who will receive gifted plants. Kudos to Willow Ridge teacher Melissa Erikson for heading this group! #WeAreSweetHome
